There’s something you can’t quite put your finger on when you walk into a home with HRV home ventilation. It’s why we say you’ll “love the feeling of coming home.”
And it’s exactly that – a feeling. A home with HRV home ventilation feels drier… none of that damp chill you sometimes get, especially in winter. HRV homes feel fresher too… good airflow will do that! And HRV homes feel cleaner too, thanks to that flow of drier air reducing the conditions mould needs to grow.
After almost 20 years of delivering that feeling, we decided to put it under the microscope – literally!
The result: HRV AirSense™ home ventilation is scientifically proven to reduce moisture1, and helps prevent mould.
We partnered with Auckland’s Unitec – one of New Zealand’s leading technology-focused research institutions. Unitec’s scientists and researchers studied 15 homes, before and after HRV home ventilation was installed1.
This wasn’t some abstract study in the laboratory. We installed HRV home ventilation systems into typical New Zealand homes with a bunch of different families living in them. Unitec interviewed homeowners and carefully measured moisture, mould and air quality before and after HRV home ventilation got to work.
The results were fantastic, but will come as no surprise to any one of the hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders already living with HRV:
Less moisture: in a study of 15 homes over 12 weeks, most homes with HRV home ventilation showed reductions in humidity.
Less mould: in the same real-world study, homes with HRV home ventilation were observed (by homeowners) to develop less mould overall.
More effective: in another study, the University of Canterbury Engineering Department showed that HRV AirSense™ moves 10% more fresh air than our previous range2.
Improved indoor air quality: in the Unitec real-world study, levels of particulate matter (things like dust, pollen and mould spores) and carbon dioxide all dropped when HRV home ventilation was installed.
So much for the science – what does it mean to someone considering investing in HRV home ventilation?
We think it’s pretty simple. HRV home ventilation is proven to reduce moisture1 and helps prevent mould, both important measures when you want a healthier home for your family. If that matters to you, then we’d love to talk.
